你就是綠洲

You’ve already heard the words, peace, joy—and these are the words we hear. But the question always is, “Where do we find it? And why, why is peace so elusive?” The whole world talks about peace, the whole world wants peace. And people try—and somehow they don’t succeed.

你們已經聽過和平、喜悅這些字，我們聽到這些字。但問題一直是：「我們要去哪裡才能找到？」「為什麼？為何和平這麼難以捉摸？」整個世界談及和平，整個世界想要和平。人們嘗試，不知怎麼的並沒有成功。

So, this is what I want to talk about—because the desire for peace has nothing to do with culture. The desire for peace has nothing to do with the amount of education; has nothing to do with wealth; has nothing to do with how you live, what you speak, what you have attained, how you think, what you think. But the desire for peace is fundamentally and innately in every single human being.

因此，這是我想談及的東西。因為對和平的欲望與文化是完全無關的。對和平的欲望與受過多少教育是完全無關的，與財富完全無關，與你的生活方式完全無關，與你所言、與你的成就與你如何思考，與你思考什麽是完全無關的，但對和平的欲望是很根本的，是每一個人與生俱來的。

If you understand just this much—just this much—that's enough. That’s enough. Then you understand why a bird needs to fly. Why a bird needs to fly. Not because of you. Not because, to show you. But it has a desire to fly from inside.

你若只明白這麽多，只有這麽 多，那就足夠了，那就足夠了。那麼，你明白為何鳥需要飛行，為何鳥需要飛行，不是因為你，不是因為要飛給你看，而是有發自內在的欲望要飛行。

They take—when you buy, bird for your home, so that the bird will not hurt itself—they clip the wings. So now with the wings clipped, if the bird wants to fly, it cannot. But it does not stop the desire of the bird to want to fly. And even though it’s in vain, ‘cause it’s not going to fly, the fulfillment of the desire of wanting to fly has not been clipped—and cannot be clipped.

當你買一隻鳥回家，為了使鳥不傷害自己，他們剪去牠的翼，因此翼給剪掉了，假如鳥想飛都不可能了，但牠想飛的欲望沒有消失，即使徒勞無功，因為牠不會飛，牠想滿足飛行的欲望並沒有給剪掉，無法被剪掉的。

Of why a seed needs to germinate—then you understand this. If you understand that the desire for peace comes from inside of you, then you understand why the seed needs to germinate; why the water in the river needs to go back in the ocean. Then you understand why the rain comes. Then you understand why the butterfly needs to go from place to place. Then you understand why a bee will go from one flower to the other, to the other, to the other, to the other.

你若明白種子為何需要萌芽，那麼，你便明白這一點。假如你明白對和平的欲望來自你內在，那麼，你便明白為何種子需要萌芽。為何河水需要流返海洋，那麼，你便明白為何要下雨，那麼，你便明白為何蝴蝶需要從一處飛到另一處，那麼，你便明白為何蜜蜂從一朵花飛到另一朵花、另一朵花、另一朵花、又另一朵花。

Then, if you understand the inner want to have peace, and accept the inner want to have peace, then that is the day your journey towards peace begins. That’s the day you take the first step.

那麼，你若明白想擁有和平的內在需求，並接受想擁有和平的內在需求，那麼，那一天你走向和平的旅程便開始了。那一天你便起步了。
